Today, Sunday, April 7, in a grandiose atmosphere, the celebration of Evangelismos tis Theotokou was held at the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi.
Metropolitan Ioustinos of New Krini and Kalamaria was the one that presided the Archieratic Divine Liturgy at the celebrating Church of Evangelismos.
Along with the Metropolitan, the service was performed by the Abbot of Hilandar Monastery, Elder Methodios, Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery Elder Ephraim and several hieromonks.
The Divine Liturgy was also attended by the Civil Governor of Mount Athos Kostas Dimtsas, delegates from other Monasteries, as well as representatives of the Coast Guard, the Police and the Fire Department.
It is worth mentioning that, during the Divine Service, Monk Philotheos of Vatopedi was ordained a deacon.
There followed a festive dinner, where Abbot Ephraim had the chance to thank everyone for the ecclesiastic feast and congratulate the new Deacon offering him his best wishes.
