A clear message to Turkey that the European Union is not being blackmailed was sent by the Vice-President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas.

If we find ourselves in such a situation on August 25, it is reasonable to impose sanctions. At the moment, a sanction system is on the table,” he said. When asked what would be the sanction that will “hurt” the most, he answered: “The sanctions that hurt the most are the sanctions that are not announced in advance, they are the sanctions that are decided and applied.”
