Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew told Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria on the telephone on Friday afternoon how grateful was with the decision made by the Patriarchate of Alexandria to recognise the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine and its Primate, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv.
“The Ecumenical Patriarch telephoned me to express his great gratitude to the Church of Alexandria, for with great prudence, prayer and consideration, we have made this historic decision,” Patriarch Theodore said to the congregation during the feast of the Church of Saint Nektarios in Cairo.
“Our country is happy, the Church is recording, people are dreaming and God’s blessings in our hearts and in heaven abound,” Patriarch Theodore concluded.
