A Divine Liturgy was celebrated before the Holy Girdle of the Theotokos, today, Friday, June 29, at the Cathedral of Apostle Paul in Corinth.

The Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, Elder Ephraim, presided at the festal Divine Liturgy, along with the clergy of the Holy Metropolis.

It should be noted that during the Divine Liturgy, hundreds of believers flocked to venerate the Holy Girdle of the Mother of God, which is placed for veneration until Sunday, June 30.

The Divine Word was preached by Elder Ephraim, who referred to the history and importance of the Holy Girdle.

“The grace of Our Lady is diffused through the Holy Girdle to all those who are participating in the Divine Liturgy today,” Elder Ephraim said, inter alia.

At another point the Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery said that “the Holy Girdle performs many miracles, and here in Corinth, they have already told me about five cases of conception.”

“I wish this reverential veneration to be a turning point for the eternal life for everyone,” Elder Ephraim added.
