Delegation of the Moscow Theological Academy in Alexandria

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed a delegation of clerics, professors and students of the Russian Orthodox Church headed by Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, Archbishop Ambrosios of Vereya, at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified.

At the invitation of the leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria Tawadros II, a visit to the ancient holy pilgrimages in Cairo and Alexandria was scheduled within the Commission for Dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Coptic Church.

Then the Patriarch and the delegation of the Theological School went to the Patriarchal Mansion, where they spoke warmly about the missionary work done throughout the African continent. They also discussed education issues of mutual interest while they referred to the future collaboration of the Alexandrian Throne with the Moscow Theological Academy.

Finally, the visitors had the opportunity to see the premises of the Archaeological Museum, the Patriarchal Library and the Patriarchal Sacristy.
