Delegation of the Church of Crete, consisting of Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Heronissos, Chairman of the Synodical Committee on Religious Tourism and the Metropolitans Amphilochios of Kisamos and Selimos and Kyrill of Ierapitna and Siteia, met with Mr. Theocharis, Minister of Tourism, in Athens, on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
During the meeting they discussed issues of Religious Tourism and Promotions of Religious Monuments of Crete, and considered proposals by the Church of Crete for the inclusion of structures and actions in the Programs of the Ministry of Tourism, under the NSRF Program “Upgrading Infrastructure and Pilgrimage Services”.
The Minister referred to the data from the Ministry and pledged to study the proposals that have been submitted and to exhaust all the scope of cooperation with the Church of Crete, through the competent Synodical Committee on Religious Tourism, for the promotion of cultural wealth of the Religious Monuments of Crete.
