Cypriot President: Converting the Chora Church into a mosque is an act of disrespect on the part of Turkey

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, expresses his condemnation for the conversion of the Chora Church into a mosque.

In a post on his official twitter account, N. Anastasiades states:

“We strongly condemn the decision of the Turkish government to convert the Chora Monastery into a mosque. This is another act of disrespect on the part of Turkey in the world cultural heritage.”
