Council of State: There is no problem with the appointment of the Tinos Foundation administrative committee

The Plenary of the Council of State rejected the applications for annulment filed by the ex officio President of the Foundation, Metropolitan Dorotheos II of Syros, the vice-president, the secretary-general, two members of the administrative committee, etc., who were elected on December 10, 2017.

Consequently, there was no problem related to the appointment of the members of the administrative committee of the Pan-Hellenic Holy Foundation of the Evaggelistria of Tinos (PIIET).

Regarding the regulation which reintroduced the original scheme according to which the vice-president and secretary-general of the PIIET administrative committee was elected solely by the elected members without the participation of the Metropolitan, who is the ex officio member of the administrative committee, the Council of State held that “this does not go against either the principle of public service rational organization or to the principle of equality.”

Furthermore, this regulation does not give more responsibilities to the members than those of the president, as the delegated powers to the administrative committee are in no way affected.”
