Churches across Greece opened today after two months

Τhe Church of Greece is in full compliance with the new situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic as well as with the new measures and guidelines given by the State, which the faithful strictly respect.

Moreover, a special projector was installed in the churchyard of some churches in order to avoid overcrowding. According to protothema.gr, the faithful keep an adequate distance from each other. In addition, churches provide masks, disposable gloves, and hand sanitiser, whereas the antidoron is given in small plastic bags by the priests.

The Holy Communion was performed smoothly: the faithful were well prepared, they were keeping distance from each other, and young children were the ones who firstly received Holy Communion.

Metropolitan of Preveza: We missed our faithful very much

“We missed our faithful, our people, our family. We were feeling alone, deprived of their love, their hugs, their presence, their advice, their support, their complaints. The churchgoers sat again on the pew in God’s Fear. There was nothing. A total void. In God’s Fear. This is how God allowed things to happen,” the Metropolitan stressed, speaking to the ANA-MPA.
