Church of Crete’s clergy: We persist in the red lines for the clergy payroll and the constitutional reform

The clerics of the Church of Crete remain committed to the “red lines”, as decided by the general assembly of the Union of the Clergy Associations of the Church of Crete (ESKEK), which met on a special occasion on Thursday, March 7.

In particular, it was decided that the priests remain firm on the red lines set by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Holy Synod of the Church of Crete, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, the Union of the Associations of Clergy of the Church of Crete and the Association of Clergy of Greece (ISKE), regarding the revision of Articles 3 and 21 of the Constitution concerning the religious neutrality of the Greek state and the Greek family respectively, as well as the payroll of the priests.

It was also decided to raise a sum for the flood victims of Crete from the salary of the priests of Crete.
