The Church of Crete emphasized, in its today’s meeting for July, the need to maintain the current status of Hagia Sophia.

The Hierarchs of Crete, according to the communique of the Synod, recommend “respect for Ηistory and for the coexistence of Peoples, Religions and Cultures, on the basis of love, truth and justice, as our Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has emphasized.”

The Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete also reiterated its position on the non-negotiability of the Holy Communion, stressing that “the current ritual of transmitting the Holy Communion is unchanged, as was recently emphasized in the announcement of the Patriarchate’s Press Office.”
