These are historic moments for the Church of St. Demetrius Oplon, as Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac of the Serbian Patriarchate gifted yesterday the relics of Saints and Martyrs Seraphim, Habakkuk, and Marmarius of Herzegovina.

Bishop Segije presided over the Vespers Service which attended many clergymen, such as the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Athens, Father Varnavas Theocharis.

On Saturday morning, the hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church by Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac.

Many citizens went today to the Church to venerate the icon of Panagia Yiatrissa, the relics of Saint Demetrius, and the relics of the three martyrs that were a gift from Bishop Sergije to the Church of St. Demetrius.

In his sermon, Bishop Sergije spoke of the life of Saint Demetrius and said that he was the most important Saint in human history.  He finished with the phrase “As long as we love, we become martyrs as well,” and then wished all the best to the believers.
