The canonical right of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to intervene in order to restore the unity of the Church in Ukraine reported Bishop Kyrillos of Abydos, in a brief speech that he made on Sunday, April 7, at the Community Hall of the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary of the Six Marbles, after the officiation of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Catanyctic Vespers.

The Ecumenical Patriarch, after congratulating Metropolitan Maximos of Selybria, Supervisor of the Ypsomatheia district, and the members of the Committee of the Holy Temple for their work, presented to the believers the Bishop of Abydos, whom he described as a dear Hierarch of the Church Mother and a distinguished university professor, author of a number of studies with a more recent one on the Ukrainian issue, under the title “The Throne of Constantinople at the helm and the Patriarchate of Moscow”.

In his speech, Bishop of Abydos, referring to the Ukrainian issue, pointed out, inter alia, that justice was given to a Church that was suffering, while adding that “the privileges and rights of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which one cannot ignore” were also supported.
