Archimandrite Varnavas Theocharis was elected Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Athens following the election of Symeon as Metropolitan of Fthiotida.
Archbishop Ieronymos announced this decision to the members of the Standing Holy Synod.
The newly-elected Metropolitan Fthiotida has already resigned today from the post of protosyncellus of the Archdiocese.
