Archieratic Divine Liturgy for the Presentation of the Lord at the Temple by Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia

On Sunday, February 2, on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord at the Temple, an Archieratic Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of St. Andrew of the Greek Community of Kitwe, in which Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia officiated and blessed the Five Loaves of Bread (Artoklasia service).

In his speech, Metropolitan Ioannis referred to the evangelical passage of the day and emphasized the high meanings of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, which is one of the celebrations of the “Twelve Great Feasts” (Dodekaorton).

After the end of the sevice, a general meeting and elections were held in the premises of the Greek community to elect a new Board of Directors of the Greek Community in Kitwe.

In his brief address, the Metropolitan of Zambia referred to the importance and role of the Community in preserving our cultural identity and thanked the outgoing BoD for their excellent cooperation.
