Archdiocese of Thyateira: December 5 is officially declared a Day of Mourning

The Archdiocese of Thyateira issued a press release to inform the honourable chairmen and the devout flock of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain that “Thursday, December 5, is officially declared a Day of Mourning during which the Funeral Service of His Eminence Gregorios former Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain will take place”.

The Archdiocese recommends that all scheduled festivities for this day to be cancelled, every Greek Community School to remain closed during the day, the flags at every Church and Greek Community School to be at half-mast for a series of three consecutive days and a minute of silence to be kept in every school at exactly 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 7, 2019, as a token of respect and honour for the late Archbishop.

The body of His Eminence will lie in state at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, Wood Green today until tomorrow, 8.00 am, when the Orthros service and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be celebrated

The Funeral Service of the late former Archbishop Gregorios will take place tomorrow at 10:30 am (local time).
