Archbishop of Cyprus is Honorary Doctor of the Serbian Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts

In the afternoon of Friday, August 16, at a meeting in the Holy Archdiocese, the President of the Serbian Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts, Dragan Damjanovic, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Academy Dr. Divan Canacevic awarded Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus the title of honorary doctor and lifelong member of the Serbian Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts.

 

Along with the Certificate of Appointment, he was awarded the Archbishop’s Honorary Diploma, which included the form of the first Archbishop of the Serbian Church of Saint Savva, on the occasion of completing 800 years of Autocephaly of Serbian Church, as well as the most recently published book entitled “The ship more quick than time”, which mentions the tours and stations of Virgin Mary in Cyprus, Greece, Mount Athos etc.

 

Archbishop Chrysostomos graciously thanked the delegation of the Royal Academy and gave as a present a silver disc with the figures of the founders of the Apostolic Church of Cyprus, Paul and Barnabas, and a silver copy of the mosaic of the Metropolitan of Paphos, where the Christianization of the first European city by the two Apostles is represented.
