Archbishop Elpidophoros of America to be Grand Marshal of Boston parade

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America eagerly accepted the invitation of the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of New England to be the Grand Marshal at this year’s Greek Independence Day Parade of Boston and New England.

The annual Greek Independence Day Parade, as the National Herald has already reported, will take place on Sunday, April 26, at 1 p.m. in Boston, as has been done for the past 25 years.

The President of the Federation, Vasilis Kafkas, said to the Archbishop at the end of the Vespers on September 13, the Feast of the Cross, at the Theological School that the Federation Board wanted Archbishop Elpidophoros to be the Grand Marshall this year.

He then made a recommendation to the Board of Directors, which unanimously adopted the recommendation, and the Board’s decision was unanimously upheld by the Federation’s general assembly, held on Wednesday, November 20, at the Maliotis Cultural Center.
