The Superior (Abbot) of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi is treated at the hospital of Kiev. Elder Ephraim arrived on Friday afternoon at the capital of Ukraine for the Enthronement of the new Archbishop of Kiev, Mr. Epiphanius.
According to information by Romfea.gr Elder Ephraim felt ill and irregular heartbeat, and therefore was immediately hospitalized.
The Abbot underwent a medical examination. It should be reminded that Abbot Ephraim has a medical record of heart disease, since he has been through stent operation.
Furthermore, according to the above information, the Abbot shall not be able to attend the enthronement of Bishop Epiphanius, because it is uncertain how long he shall remain in hospital.
