The Divine Liturgy was solemnly celebrated at the Cathedral of Ioannis the Theologian in Nicosia, in Cyprus, which was concelebrated by Bishop Grigorios of Mesaoria.
The Archbishop of Cyprus pointed out, “The significance of the birth of Christ will always be clear: it is not humans that govern and create history. It is God that, in the mystery of the Divine Economy, became a man.”
In addition, the Head of the Church of Cyprus regarding the provocative actions from Turkey said, “We must not remain idle on the actions of Turkey. We need coordinated actions by the Greek people and we have to realise that the Cyprus issue is a nationwide issue, which is inextricably linked to the security of all Greece. Greece and Cyprus must believe in their own strength. We are both Member States of the United Nations and the European Union.”
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop of Cyprus wished the best of health and happiness to everyone.
